CKYSports.com was founded in 2007 as a response to the apathy of other media outlets to highlight local high school athletes for their acomplishments. CKYSports.com started out as a blog website solution to present our online readers with news and information about local high school athletics. In March of 2008 due to our gaining popularity, CKYSports.com printed our first ever magazine. Our company set a mission to be the leader in high school and youth sports multimedia and we are living up to that mission today. Alot has changed since 2007 when we started out as a high school sports blog. We still produce high school sports previews in magazine form from time to time but our focus has shifted with the booming Internet trend. Social sites have taken the Internet by storm and continue to be very popular with our local area youth and young families. After careful market research and rising Internet trends, in April of 2008 CKYSports.com went where our demographic was on the Internet with live play by play and CKSN was born. The Central Kentucky Sports Network brought live and on-demand high school play by play into thousands of homes and across the world using the latest in Internet streaming technology. Our first game on air was a baseball game featuring the West Jessamine Colts and Somerset Briar Jumpers. Our company founders William Warfield and John Carmichael did the play by play on that first broadcast and since then fell in love with the new gig. Fast forward to the current time and our network has grown at a fast pace. CKSN has produced and broadcast over 500 high school sporting events. Such sporting events as the state baseball tournament, boys Sweet 16, and state soccer tournaments have been broadcast over our network. We have also become the full time home of the East Jessamine Jaguars, the West Jessamine Colts, and the Woodford County Yellow Jackets. CKSN launched our sports photography division in 2009 as a response to our magazine and website artwork being admired by those viewing it. We now feature digital downloads, real photo prints that are delivered to our customers house, and individual and team posters done by our photoshop professionals. CKSN takes great pride in our school involvement and the athletes we cover on a daily basis. Our service opens doors at the next level for student athletes wanting to play in college. An example would be a college recruiter on the west coast could watch or listen to a game here in Central Kentucky and not break any recruiting violations. CKSN brings families together in the value of sports as well. An example, dad fighting the war across seas can watch his daughter play basketball while taking a break in the desert.
